Three of our employees have successfully completed the ILM Level 3 Award in Leadership and Management. Lee Smith, Account Director, Timi Bottova, Account Manager, and Rob Tagg, Contract Manager, have achieved this significant milestone as part of their professional development in the accreditation scheme overseen by the Institute of Leadership and Management.
Lee, Timi and Rob all have positions that involve people management and have taken on progressively more significant roles since joining Jigsaw. We recognised that to go further and move up to the next level of management they would each need to undertake formal training. The ILM Level Three Award was identified as offering the right combination of training and content to help managers who need to lead people through a wide range of business demands. The course included monthly workshops, provided by a specialist training organisation, covering core business management themes as well as assignments and an improvement project related to their own daily roles. The course culminated in a presentation to key members of Jigsaw’s Senior Management Team before the qualification was awarded.
For Lee, the course provided an opportunity to re-evaluate his management style by relating the topics covered in the course to his own role at the company. Timi’s projects focussed on return on investment and the further reduction of operational errors which could save time and money for the business. To provide relevance and added value, real operational data from the business for the first six months of the year was analysed.
Timi said: “A key objective of the training for me was to improve my management skills and to optimise the performance of my team. The training and course content was highly relevant and has really helped me in my daily work – I now have improved confidence as well as a renewed sense of enthusiasm to challenge the way we do things to improve the customer experience and staff satisfaction.”
Andy Humpherson said: “Lee, Timi and Rob have all progressed into their current roles with hard work and dedication and we felt the time was right to further develop their skills and future prospects. Each overcame challenges in their roles to achieve the award and we have already seen a big difference in their approach to day-to-day management that is really helping our business.”
